PUERTO RICO: THE UNITED NATIONS HAS ASKED THE UNITED STATES TO DESCOLONIZE PUERTO RICO, NOT TO DO MORE PLEBISCITES!

Congressman José Serrano supporting another plebiscite so that "Puerto Ricans can exercise their right to self-determination and independence".

Isn't it interesting that the government of the United States (US) illegally obtained Puerto Rico as its colony by militarily invading her without holding a single plebiscite to ask Puerto Ricans if they wanted that?

The United Nations (UN) has not asked the US government to determine what political status Puerto Ricans prefer.

The UN has already determined that the US government must immediately give back to Puerto Rico her sovereignty.  And that is what the UN has asked the US government to do 33 times.  That would make Puerto Rico an independent nation whether she wants to or not.

After that, she would be in a position under international law to enter into other political relationships.  But since the US government wants to keep Puerto Rico as her colony forever, it plays these plebiscite games to pretends that it stands for justice for all.

That is why everyone who believes, like the UN, that colonialism is a crime against humanity must protest together at least 3 times a year until we descolonize Puerto Rico.

---The first one will be a march in Puerto Rico to the US Courthouse on March 22 – The Abolition of Slavery Day.

---The second one will be another march in Puerto Rico on the day before the UN hearing concerning the decolonization of Puerto Rico.

---The third one will be a protest in New York City on the day that the UN has its annual hearing about the decolonization of Puerto Rico.

Of course, we will also support all demonstrations for the release of our Puerto Rican political prisoner Oscar López Rivera.

These protests are absolutely necessary, because 116 years of Puerto Rico colonialism means that the US government doesn't  believe in justice for all!
